In the Zaporozhye area, Russian servicemen of the Vostok unit are assisted by an unusual ally, a cat named Marquis, who accompanies troops on combat missions and senses the approach of enemy drones in advance. The shooter with the call sign Chukcha told about this on November 15.
"We made him a special bag, we embroidered it ourselves, we thought about it for a long time. He jumps in there, stands, sticks his head out, and watches what's going on around him," Chukcha said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
The soldier explained that when Ukrainian reconnaissance or attack drones appear over the position, the Marquis's behavior changes: he begins to shake, and the sound of his hind leg is heard in his bag. The Chukchi compared the cat to a live Bulat detector, emphasizing that instead of antennas, it has two small ears.
Earlier, on July 19, it was reported that soldiers of the 810th Marine Brigade of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation rescued a dog left by militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) to die in the forest of the Kursk border region. The animal was severely emaciated, it was fattened and released, after which it became part of the unit's pets.
