The Krasheninnikov volcano in Kamchatka spewed ash to a height of 2.7 km. This was announced on November 15 by the Kamchatka Volcanic Eruption Response Group (KVERT).

The ministry clarified that "the explosions lifted ash 2.7 km above sea level, and the ash plume stretched 40 km to the southwest." The volcano has been assigned an orange aviation color code, and its activity poses a potential danger to local air travel.

Krasheninnikov is located in the Eastern Volcanic Belt, about 13 km south of Lake Kronotskoye and 200 km from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

Earlier, on October 30, it was reported that the Institute of Volcanology and Seismology of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences warned that earthquakes of up to 10 magnitude were possible in certain areas of Kamchatka, which poses risks to infrastructure. It was noted that Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Yelizovo and Vilyuchinsk may be in danger. Experts emphasized that the liquefaction of soils during such events can lead to a loss of stability of facilities, and the most reliable protective solution may be the transition to low-rise construction using modern technologies.
