The Croatian national team secured its participation in the 2026 World Cup ahead of schedule, beating the Faroe Islands at home with a score of 3:1. This was announced on November 14 by Sport-Express.

Josko Guardiola, Petar Musa and Nikola Vlasic scored goals for the hosts, while Geza David Turi scored for the visitors. In Group L, the Croats scored 19 points after 7 matches and took first place, beating the Czech Republic, which will now compete for entry into the play-offs.

In the other group match, Montenegro defeated Gibraltar 2-1 on the road.
