- South Africa expressed hope for the development of relations within the framework of the BRICS-Europe Symposium
Within the framework of the BRICS–Europe symposium held in Sochi from November 14 to 15, steps were outlined for further growth and development of joint relations. This was stated on November 14 by a member of the African National Congress from South Africa (South Africa), Lindia Vazulu, in an interview with Izvestia.
"This is not our first time here, we have been participating from the very beginning and we believe that this second meeting is another step towards the further growth and development of this movement. This is a very important movement for us, not only in South Africa, but throughout the African continent," said Wazulu.
She added that the presence of representatives from many countries especially strengthens the positive steps within the framework of the platform, such as the development and strengthening of unity.
"The presence of the other countries represented here is our desire for this movement to grow and strengthen for the sake of peace, security and prosperity of the African peoples," said Lindia Wazulu.
Earlier, on November 11, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin met with Egyptian Ambassador Hamdi Shaaban to discuss the implementation of joint infrastructure projects and preparations for the second Russia–Africa ministerial conference. The parties also touched upon some practical issues related to the preparation of the upcoming ministerial conference, which is aimed at strengthening ties between Russia and African countries.
