The Plast City Court of the Chelyabinsk region granted the claim of the Prosecutor General's Office against the former owner of Yuzhuralzolot Konstantin Strukov and a number of other defendants for the recovery of property and funds totaling almost 5 billion rubles. This was reported by law enforcement agencies on November 14.
According to the TASS interlocutor, the court converted property worth 1.4 billion rubles into state income and additionally decided to recover 3.5 billion rubles. This is the third lawsuit filed by the Prosecutor General's Office.
The proceedings were held behind closed doors. The case involves nine defendants, including Strukov's relatives, his confidants, and employees whom the security forces consider to be fictitiously employed. According to investigators, the businessman brought abroad more than 163 billion rubles, which were used to purchase real estate, yachts and luxury goods.
Earlier, on October 29, the Chelyabinsk Regional Court upheld the decision to withdraw the shares and assets of the Yuzhuralzoloto company and ten other organizations related to Strukov to the state income. The defendants' appeal was rejected.
