The Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation has allowed administrative and criminal penalties for one traffic violation.

The Constitutional Court of Russia has allowed the perpetrators of road accidents to be brought to both administrative and criminal responsibility if one traffic violation caused different consequences for the victims.

The reason for the consideration was the request of the Ivanovo District Court in the case of the bus driver who became a participant in the accident: one person who was driving a car was killed, and the other was slightly injured. Because of this, a criminal case was opened against the driver and an administrative penalty was imposed at the same time.
