The PSB named the advantages of individual investment strategies

Taking into account the transformation of approaches to standard trust management strategies, investment market participants are adapting their service and product models in an effort to offer customers the most relevant and balanced product portfolio. The individualization of the management system will improve the quality of trust management and strengthen the protection of investors' rights. This was stated by Alexey Zhogolev, Senior Vice President and Director of the PSB Wealth Management Department, at the Retail Investors session of the NAUFOR Ural Conference "Russian Stock Market".

After the Bank of Russia ordered investment management companies to switch to individual strategies, some players simply reformatted old products, Zhogolev noted. The product content of the new individual strategies remains the same as in the old, standard ones. This leads to the persistence of problems: a high concentration of monostrategies, expensive commissions, and unobvious consumer value, explained the Vice President of the PSB.

"The PSB Management Company is also looking for a solution that will allow individualizing the DU for unqualified investors with a lower check, such a product is being prepared," Zhogolev said. According to him, it will not be possible to completely avoid standardization, since a mass product implies scalability. Nevertheless, PSB intends to include a certain level of portfolio individualization in the product.

He also stressed the importance of creating an individual investment Account Insurance Fund (IIS). According to Zhogolev, this will give investors additional confidence, stimulate investments in various sectors of the economy and increase citizens' confidence in the stock market.

Since January 1, 2025, the Bank of Russia has prohibited trust managers from connecting clients to standard strategies. Now they are required to offer only individual strategies that take into account the financial situation of clients, their education, experience in the securities market, current investments and monetary obligations.
