Grossi stressed the importance of joint work between Russia and the IAEA
The nuclear power plant in Bangladesh and the project in Turkey show the importance of joint work between Russia and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). This was announced on November 14 by the head of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi.
"It is very important that nuclear energy is increasingly recognized around the world, because it is the only way to ensure continued economic growth, solve climate problems and move the world forward," said Grossi.
The head of the IAEA also stressed that Rosatom is a leader not only domestically, but also on the international stage, building nuclear facilities in many parts of the world.
"I would also single out the Ruppur station in Bangladesh in the Southeast Asian region, which needs energy. And, of course, the project in Turkey with the launch of the Akkuyu station," Grossi added.
On the same day, Likhachev and Grossi discussed the restoration of electricity supply to the NPP after repairs related to two high-voltage transmission lines. Likhachev also expressed gratitude to the agency's experts for their assistance in providing conditions for the repair work.
