The expert spoke about a possible boycott of Galkin's concerts in Israel
Maxim Galkin (recognized as a foreign agent in the Russian Federation) may face financial losses due to the fact that the Israeli public will stop attending his performances after the incident with the flag of Ukraine. This was announced on November 14 by lawyer Alexander Benkhin.
Earlier, footage appeared online showing Galkin covering the Israeli flag with a Ukrainian one at a concert in Petah Tikva. This act caused outrage among Israeli public figures.
"Given that Israel is now taking a partially pro-Ukrainian position, I doubt that a case will be opened against Galkin. But people might get offended and just stop going to his concerts. That is, the residents themselves will punish him with a ruble, that is, a shekel," Benkhin quotes. News.ru .
The lawyer noted that formal criminal prosecution for desecration of state symbols is unlikely, since the law provides for punishment for intentional desecration of the flag, and not for displaying another flag. Under Israeli law, a fine of almost $20,000 or three years in prison is provided for desecrating the state symbol.
October 30, Maxim Galkin's brother (recognized as a foreign agent in the Russian Federation) Dmitry Galkin appealed to the Moscow court with a claim for the protection of honor, dignity and business reputation to Digital News LLC. The reason for the trial was an October 6 publication titled "The Galkins' Thinning Wallet: What's Happening to Brother Maxim's Defense Business."
