The head of Rosatom discussed international cooperation at the NPP with Grossi

At the stage of operation of the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP), elements of international cooperation are being considered, this issue was raised during negotiations with the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi. This was announced on November 14 by the head of Rosatom, Alexey Likhachev.

Likhachev noted that during the talks the parties discussed the future and joint plans after the end of the special military operation in Ukraine.

"Sooner or later, the goals of the SVR will be achieved, we will be able to proceed to the operation of the station. And, as the President of the Russian Federation [Vladimir Putin] said during a meeting with the Director General of the IAEA, that at the operational stage we, of course, allow elements of international cooperation around business," said the head of Rosatom.

He explained that the business processes will relate to the use of electricity generated by the Zaporizhia NPP. These are the issues of the future that you need to prepare for in advance.

"We have had such negotiations, including today with the Director General of the IAEA," Likhachev said.

The press service of Rosatom reported that Likhachev and the head of the IAEA also discussed the restoration of electricity supply to the nuclear power plant after the repair of two high-voltage transmission lines. According to the state corporation, the Russian side informed the IAEA about the current state of the facility and the measures being taken to ensure stable and safe operation of the plant against the background of provocations by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
