The analyst questioned the prospects of the Russian Knewstar car brand

All Knewstar brand cars sold in Russia this year were released in 2024. At the same time, the second model of the brand, announced a year ago, has not appeared on sale. This makes us think that the Knewstar project will not receive development, Sergey Tselikov, director of the Autostat analytical agency, pointed out in his Telegram channel on November 14.

Since the beginning of the year, 4,975 copies of the Knewstar 001 model have been sold, which hides the well-known Geely Tugella model. In total, 6,691 such vehicles have already been registered in Russia since the start of sales, which started in September 2024. In October, sales of the Knewstar 001 totaled 573 units, which is 23% more than in the middle of autumn last year.

"It is unclear what will happen to the Knewstar project. Especially against the background of constantly circulating unofficial information about the assembly of Geely models under the Volga brand," the analyst wrote.

According to the official website of the brand, at the moment the Knewstar 001 is offered in three trim levels at a price of 4.16 million to 4.49 million rubles.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that in the first three quarters of 2025, the number of car dealerships in Russia decreased by 131 units and reached 2,975 by the beginning of October. At the same time, the number of dealer contracts has increased by 220 since the beginning of the year and reached 4,302.
