Throughout the year, the world has been discussing the emergence of AI agents, a new class of neural network solutions that can perform applied actions in the outside world on behalf of users. Russian solutions in this area are now also available. Pavel Kaplya, head of product development at Alice AI, told Izvestia on November 15 about the opportunities offered by AI agents and how they will affect the lives of Russians.

"Generative models are developing rapidly: in recent years, they have become more effective and significantly improved the quality of responses, and the style of their communication in chats with users has become close to live. If a few years ago large language models (LLM) mainly helped businesses — they automated processes, suggested solutions, analyzed data — now they are becoming personal tools for many users," the expert explained.

He cited the format of smart chatbots and browser add-ons as an example: they help you search for information, write texts, create images and videos, structure tasks, and much more.

The emergence of AI agents has been a major breakthrough in AI since the advent of generative technologies. According to the expert, they expand the capabilities of neural network assistants. Previously, neural networks mostly answered questions and analyzed data, and the result of their work was reduced to text answers, but now they are able to act: perform actions, interact with other systems, remember user's choices and tasks, and are able to make decisions autonomously.

So, modern technologies allow you to create AI agents that can search and book hotels, compare products, place orders, fill out forms in the browser. They can interact with interfaces — open tabs, enter text, drag and drop items. Some of them analyze large amounts of data, draw conclusions, and even propose solutions.

"The main difference from the usual neural networks is their autonomy and the ability to perform a chain of actions, going beyond the chat and using other services. The agent can also remember how the user acts, is able to adapt to his habits, and in the near future will be able to complete a multi—step task without human intervention," said Drop.

In the very near future, AI agents, he said, will help Russians book tables in restaurants and time in beauty salons, compare prices for goods and choose the best deals, help arrange a taxi or grocery delivery. They can be assigned to conduct research, collect materials on a topic, or make a list of household or work chores.

On November 7, MWS AI informed Izvestia that Russian companies had begun to form AI transformation offices, departments for implementing neural network-based products into various processes. Organizations are massively looking for managers who will be able to launch and scale initiatives in the field of artificial intelligence, automate routine processes and improve the efficiency of departments.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
