The Moscow State Traffic Inspectorate has announced a raid on bicycle couriers
The Moscow State Traffic Inspectorate will hold a preventive event "Bicycle Courier" in the capital. It is aimed at preventing offenses among delivery workers, the agency said in its Telegram channel on November 14.
The raid will last next weekend, from November 15th to November 16th. As part of the event, traffic police officers will remind bike couriers of drivers to respect pedestrians when traveling on sidewalks, use protective equipment with retroreflective elements and comply with the requirements of road signs and traffic lights.
"The Moscow State Traffic Inspectorate regularly conducts raids and inspections aimed at ensuring compliance with traffic regulations by road users, including those who provide delivery services. Such measures are necessary to maintain order on the roads and prevent emergencies," the ministry noted.
On November weekends and holidays, on November 2-4, the Moscow State Traffic Inspectorate conducted a "Drunk driver" raid. As a result, more than 310 cases of drunk drivers driving vehicles were suppressed, including 104 drivers who were intoxicated, and 210 refused to undergo a medical examination.
Earlier that day, it was reported that the Moscow Department of Transport would end the bike rental and electric scooter rental season on the evening of November 14th. According to forecasters, a cold snap is expected in the capital. Scooters and bicycles in the parking lots are available for rent until 22:00. Then they will be blocked.
