Khabarovsk residents warned of heavy snow and blizzard

The weather is expected to worsen in the Khabarovsk Territory. The cyclone will bring heavy snow, blizzard and strong winds to most of the region.

According to IA AmurMedia, with reference to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the region, snow is forecast from November 16 to 17, heavy in places, on November 17 the wind will blow along the river valleys with gusts up to 23 m/s, a blizzard is possible, snow and drifts on the roads.

Heavy precipitation is also expected in Khabarovsk during this period, wind strengthening up to 14 m/s, on the night of November 17, wind gusts will increase to 20 m/s, a snowstorm, and drifts on the roads.

The Center for Crisis Management of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the region warned about possible emergency situations at fuel and energy and housing and communal services facilities. It is possible that power supply sources may be cut off as a result of overlapping and broken wires and precipitation on power lines.

Earlier, on November 13, Roman Vilfand, scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, said that snow had already covered 80% of the entire territory of Russia — it fell in the Northwestern Federal District, the Nenets Autonomous District, in the east of the Arkhangelsk Region, in Komi and the Murmansk Region.
