Currently, Volkswagen cars, including Audi models, do not suffer from serious reliability problems. However, the brand had periods when its technical experiments were too expensive for car owners, said auto expert Alexander Kovalev on November 14.

So, according to the expert, special care should be taken when choosing an Audi from the early 2000s. Those cars received DSG robotic transmissions of the first generations, which often failed.

"This was especially true for the DQ250 transmissions installed on the A3, TT and A1. When inspecting such machines, it is important to pay attention to the condition of the box and the history of its maintenance," Rossiyskaya Gazeta quotes the specialist as saying.

As for Audi cars from the 2010s, the engines of the A4 and A6 models have increased oil consumption. The expert advised that when choosing such cars, carefully study the service history and not consider cars that often changed owners.

Prior to that, on October 30, auto expert Kovalev stated that the first-generation Mercedes-Benz A-Class model is considered one of the most unsuccessful models of the brand that can be found on the Russian secondary market.

On October 13, Kovalev warned that Skoda Superb and Octavia cars, which can be found on the Russian secondary market, often have electrical problems, regardless of generation, from control units to contacts in door harnesses.
