A state of emergency has been introduced in Novorossiysk after a massive night attack by drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). As a result of the shelling, residential buildings, port infrastructure and a civilian ship were damaged, four people were injured. All the details are in the Izvestia article.

What is known about the consequences of the attack

According to the governor of the Krasnodar Territory, Veniamin Kondratiev, the wreckage of the UAV as a result of the night attack damaged at least four apartment buildings and two private ones, and also caused a fire at the oil depot of the Sheskharis transshipment complex.

The drone attack also affected the key infrastructure of the Novorossiysk Seaport. In addition to the damage to the container terminal and the civilian vessel, fragments of the UAV fell on the coastal structures.

Four people were injured in the attack: one man was hospitalized with injuries, and three crew members of the damaged vessel were also injured. Window panes were broken in several residential buildings, and house territories were damaged.

The reaction of the authorities

Novorossiysk Mayor Andrey Kravchenko promptly introduced a state of emergency in the city. The operational headquarters of the Krasnodar Territory coordinates the work to eliminate the consequences of the attack. Experts are assessing the damage and taking measures to prevent possible further incidents. Emergency and special services are working at the site. 172 people and 51 pieces of equipment of emergency rescue units were involved in the aftermath.

The Delo Group of Companies, which manages the port terminals, reported that the DeloPorts terminals are operating normally, according to internal instructions. The fire at the oil depot was completely eliminated by the forces of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and terminal services. The authorities guarantee the provision of necessary medical care to all victims.

In addition, two temporary accommodation facilities have been deployed in Novorossiysk after the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the city. According to the mayor of Novorossiysk, they were opened on the basis of school No. 29 and the Technical and Economic Lyceum (TEL).

That same night, the Governor of the Volgograd Region, Andrei Bocharov, announced that the air defense forces had repelled a massive attack by Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) on energy infrastructure facilities. This was announced on November 14 by the governor of the region Andrey Bocharov. According to him, there are no residential buildings damaged or injured.

In total, according to the Russian Defense Ministry, the air defense forces shot down 216 drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine over the regions of Russia overnight. It is noted that 66 drones were destroyed in the Krasnodar Territory, 45 over the Saratov region, and 19 over the Republic of Crimea. Eight drones were eliminated over the territory of the Volgograd region, seven over the Rostov region, and four over the Belgorod region.

Three UAVs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were shot down over the territory of the Tambov region, two over the Bryansk region and one each over the Voronezh, Nizhny Novgorod and Orenburg regions, 59 over the Black Sea.
