Izvestia revived Boris Yefimov's anti-fascist cartoons

Izvestia animated anti-fascist cartoons by artist Boris Yefimov from the period of the Great Patriotic War. For the exhibition "Cartoons. Comics. Humor of the Fuhrer's personal Enemy", which Izvestia will open jointly with the Russian Academy of Arts at the Zurab Tsereteli Art Gallery, a number of the master's works have been "revived" with the help of artificial intelligence.

An outstanding artist who worked at Izvestia for about 85 years, he has been creating anti-fascist works since the 1930s. Hitler was so enraged by his drawings that he included the cartoonist in a list of his enemies to be hunted down and hanged. Today, more than 80 years later, Yefimov's works do not lose their power and gain new relevance thanks to high technology.

The exhibition will include about 100 exhibits, including Boris Yefimov's original works from the Izvestia archive and the collection of the artist's family, as well as an extensive multimedia component. In addition to animated cartoons, there is an audio guide, a hologram of Boris Efimov's sculpture and QR codes at the exhibits, allowing you to learn more about the works presented.

Viewers will be able to see the "animated" images of the outstanding cartoonist on November 19 at Prechistenka 21.
