How the capital's funds help ITS fighters and their loved ones
In the capital, veterans of the Special Military Operation (SVO) and their families receive support through rehabilitation programs and psychological classes organized by local NGOs. As reported on November 14 on the portal mos.ru During the work of the NGO, more than 2.3 thousand cultural heritage sites have been restored and hundreds of social and therapeutic projects have been implemented.
The Moscow Equestrian Club for the Disabled has been conducting classes in hippotherapy and adapted horse riding since 1999. According to Oleg Solovyov, the executive director of the club, the first stage of the training is aimed at the therapeutic effect of horse movements, which helps strengthen muscles, improve coordination and relieve muscle tension.
"Helping people with disabilities is an important thing. When the special military operation began, we couldn't stay away. We have a lot of experience in rehabilitation, and thanks to him, we see how equestrian sports restore people's confidence and desire to move forward," said Solovyov.
Another initiative was the culinary project of the International Union for Patient Care and Support. Employees of the organization conduct master classes for veterans of their military and their family members, bringing together participants through joint cooking.
"Cooking together brings the family together, helps to relieve tension. It's not just cooking, but an opportunity to communicate, feel supported and cared for," said Olga Vostrikova, a participant in the program.
At the master classes, participants prepare dishes from different nations of the world, and psychologists help them cope with the effects of stress. In total, about 300 people took part in the programs, while about 85% noted an improvement in their emotional state after classes. The organizers plan to expand the format of online classes to involve residents of different regions of Russia.
