- Students in Yakutsk were detained in connection with the sale of a large batch of hashish
In Yakutsk, police detained two 19-year-old students who, according to the Interior Ministry, were trying to sell a large batch of hashish through bookmarks. This was reported on November 14 in the Telegram channel of the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
The young men were stopped on Pokrovsky Tract, after which, during a personal search, 15 packages were found in one of them, and two packages with a similar substance were found in the car interior. The examination revealed that more than 800 grams of hashish had been seized.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Yakutia, the detainees were part of an organized group and served as pawnbrokers on one of the sites of the shadow segment of the Internet. The department noted that the students had received instructions from an anonymous supervisor and were heading out of town, where they were going to set up hiding places.
"The friends extracted a large batch of a banned substance from a cache and, on the instructions of an anonymous curator, headed out of town in their car, where they planned to sell criminal goods by equipping hiding places," the press service said.
Investigators have opened a criminal case under Part 3 of Article 30 and Part 4 of Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, the defendants are in custody. Law enforcement officers identify the sources of drugs and other possible participants in the scheme.
Earlier, on October 28, it was reported that employees of the North-Western Operational Customs had liquidated a drug laboratory in the Leningrad region. Customs officers seized raw materials sufficient for the production of about 200 kg of the drug, and detained two previously convicted men who planned to launch the release of prohibited substances for further sale through bookmarks. A drug smuggling case has been opened on this fact under clause "b" of Part 4 of Article 229.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
