The Ministry of Finance will prepare online wine sales on marketplaces in 2026
The Ministry of Finance intends to conduct an experiment on the online sale of Russian wine on marketplaces in the second and third quarters of 2026. This was announced on November 13 by Oleg Kachanov, Deputy head of the Ministry, at the Digital Solutions forum.
"We expect, according to our plans, in the first quarter of next year we will release all the regulatory binding for this experiment. Since we are technically ready for this, by this time the first technical solutions can already be applied in the relevant marketplaces and couriers," RIA Novosti quotes the deputy minister.
According to him, if the experience proves successful, the mechanism of remote sale of wine can be implemented on an ongoing basis. Kachanov clarified that the identification of buyers will be carried out using biometrics in the EBS or a photo in a digital document confirmed in the system, both when ordering and when handing over the goods.
"The President has given relevant instructions, which means that this year. An indication that tells us that we should, in the experimental legal mode, still try to launch the remote sale of Russian alcohol on Russian trading platforms, well, accordingly, in compliance with identification requirements," the deputy minister explained.
