The doctor told about the detection of asymptomatic pneumonia
The incidence of community-acquired pneumonia is increasing in Russia. Symptoms include coughing, sputum production, shortness of breath, chest pain when breathing, and hemoptysis. Andrey Osipov, Chief physician of Domodedovo Central Hospital, called on Thursday, November 13, the alarming signs that urgently need to see a doctor.
The doctor listed the main symptoms that are highly likely to indicate pneumonia rather than a common cold.
"If a person has a temperature above 38.5 degrees for more than three days, intoxication, decreased appetite, cough, shortness of breath — these are the main signs," the doctor warned on Radio 1.
Osipov stressed that pneumonia can be almost asymptomatic and without fever. There may also be a slight fever and a prolonged persistent cough, he added.
"It can be caused by certain pathogens, for example, mycoplasma, chlamydia," the expert specified.
The specialist urged not to ignore the alarming symptoms and seek medical help in a timely manner.
