Preparations for the new fire season have begun in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. The region has received equipment and special equipment purchased with the support of the federal budget.

According to the press service of the regional Forest Fire Center, firefighters have already received 125 radio stations, 45 modular structures and 43 tents with stoves, 30 fire tanks with a volume of 1,000 liters and 20 thermal imagers. Thanks to these tools, firefighters will be able to increase the efficiency of fire elimination.

For example, thermal imagers are used to detect hidden fires, which will help in extinguishing remote forest fires. Gorenje The devices also detect residual heat points after extinguishing.

The received fire tanks will be transported to remote fire sites on the external suspension of Mi-8 helicopters. Water will be filled with satchel fire extinguishers and used for drinking. 14 more similar containers will be delivered to the region before the start of the fire season.

According to the KrasnoyarskMedia news agency, there are plans to purchase 70 satellite phones, 20 quadrocopters and four units of special equipment. We are talking about two shift vehicles, a snowmobile and a mini excavator.

Earlier, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment stated that climate change has led to an increase in fire-prone areas in Russia. Against this background, the authorities have increased funding for the Krasnoyarsk Territory and Transbaikalia to fight fires.
