Law enforcement officers have detained a man who launched an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) near a protected facility in Yalta. This was announced on November 13 by the Department of the Russian Guard for the Republic of Crimea.

"Employees of the Rosgvardiya's non-departmental security service detained a citizen who launched a VGI drone near one of the protected facilities located on the territory of Bolshaya Yalta," the department's Telegram channel says.

It is specified that the detainee violated the previously imposed ban on the use of drones on the territory of the republic. The officers handed the man over to the investigators of the territorial department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in order to further clarify the circumstances of the incident.

Earlier, on May 2, a man was detained in the Krasnoyarsk Territory for launching a drone. The man explained that he wanted to make a photo plan from the air to perform geodetic work. It was clarified that the men violated Part 1 of Article 11.4 of the Administrative Code ("Violation of the rules for the use of airspace") and Part 5 of Article 11.5 of the Administrative Code ("Violation of the rules for the safety of aircraft operation"). Law enforcement officers seized a UAV launched into the air from the owner.
