Snow covered 11% of unplowed crops in Transbaikalia

About 11% of the cultivated areas in the Trans-Baikal Territory did not have time to be removed due to the snowfall that took place on November 7-8. This information was presented at a meeting of the Committee on Agrarian policy of the regional Legislative Assembly.

According to the ChitaMedia news agency, at the same time, most of the peasant farms have successfully completed harvesting their crops.

Farmers affected by the early snowfall can receive compensation from insurance companies. Currently, the regional budget does not provide for payments for them.

As of November 6, 66.2 thousand hectares of crops, or 89% of the total area of crops, were harvested in Transbaikalia. Barley became the most productive, with an average of 25.3 hundredweight per hectare.
