20 railway stations to be renamed in Moscow region

The names of 20 railway stations in the Moscow Region will change. This is reported by the online publication Podmoskovye Segodnya with reference to the Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure of the region.

The current names of 19 stops contain numerical symbols for kilometers. For example, in the Kazan direction, the 49 km station will be renamed Igumnovo, and in the Kursk direction, the 66 km station name will be changed to Ivachkovo.

In addition, the Depot stop on the Bolshoy Ring of the Moscow Railway will be named "Locomotive".

Earlier that day, the first tram diameter T1 was launched in Moscow. The route is 27 km long and will connect the Universitet metro station in the southwest with the Metro City in the east.
