Type 2 diabetes occurs less frequently, but in most cases it is associated with a hereditary predisposition. Natalia Tanygina, Candidate of Medical Sciences, endocrinologist at the CMD clinic of the Central Research Institute of Rospotrebnadzor, told about this in the Izvestia podcast "Let's figure it out", recorded for Diabetes Day on November 14.

"Many people don't eat right, they like sweets, they drink soda, but not everyone gets diabetes. For someone, this is a weak spot, and the reaction of the pancreas is more intense, and therefore leads to diabetes faster," the expert noted.

You should be wary if there have already been cases of type 2 diabetes in your family, especially if the patient is physically similar to you, including in physique, the doctor recommended.

At the same time, type 1 diabetes is extremely rarely inherited. However, it usually requires a "trigger."

"Most often these are viral diseases," the doctor explained.

However, this disease can occur not only in children, but also in adults.

"It's called latent autoimmune diabetes in adults, LADA. But it's the same diabetes, in fact. It's exactly the same, it goes a little softer than that of children, but it also has its own nuances," Natalia Tanygina said.

Earlier, on October 1, Sohu pointed out the relationship between breakfast intake and blood sugar levels during the day. According to the publication, people who consume a low-carb breakfast have more stable blood sugar levels compared to those who prefer a high-carb breakfast.
