Chery crossover damaged the "heavenly ladder" during tests in China
During the tests of the new Chery crossover in China, the staircase of Mount Tianmen, a tourist attraction also known as the "heavenly staircase", was damaged. This was reported on November 13 by Carnewschina.
Chery planned to demonstrate the off-road capabilities of the new Fulwin X3L crossover by showing its arrival at the top of a high ladder. The test started successfully, but at some point the car slipped off the steps, rolled backwards and crashed into the guardrail, damaging it.
Representatives of Chery apologized in connection with the incident, admitting that they underestimated the potential risks. Previously, the cause of the accident was the disconnection of the safety cable, which became entangled in the right wheel, which led to a blockage in the traction supply. The company promised to completely restore the damaged fence.
The "Heavenly Staircase" consists of 999 steps. Climbing it is considered a kind of soul ascent, where each step becomes a meditation between earth and heaven, notes Pravda.ru . The angle of inclination of the stairs reaches 45°, and the path to the top is equivalent to climbing a 40-storey building.
Earlier in the day, it was reported that China has developed new national safety standards for motor vehicles. In particular, they provide for limiting the acceleration time of cars from 0 to 100 km/h to at least 5 seconds.
