On November 13, the opening of the Russia-Oman business Forum took place in the capital of the Sultanate of Oman. The forum is being held as part of a business mission consisting of representatives of the Russian official and business circles. The business mission is organized by the International Platform of the Roscongress Foundation Roscongress International, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Investment Attraction of the Sultanate of Oman, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Sultanate of Oman.

The moderator of the opening was the presenter and Oman TV correspondent Yaqub Suleiman Al Maamari.

In his welcoming address, Chairman of the Oman-Russia Joint Business Council Hamed Al-Sabab expressed gratitude to the organizers and partners of the Forum and noted the high level of relations between the two countries. "Today, the forum has united the two countries and marked a new milestone in the partnership between our countries. The Oman-Russia Joint Business Council has become a bridge for interaction and strengthening of trade, economic and investment cooperation between the two countries, opened new horizons for direct interaction between entrepreneurs, expanded existing partnerships. We can agree with the difficulties that each of us faces due to sanctions and the rapid transfer of capital, but since knowledge is also capital and does not require "money transfers" or compliance with sanctions, we have developed this particular area of our activity. We believe that our future opens up promising opportunities for integration in various fields, which can become a solid foundation for sustainable economic relations based on the common interests and mutual benefit of Russia and the Sultanate of Oman."

In his welcoming speech, Alexey Valkov, Deputy Director of the Roscongress Foundation and Director of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, highlighted the potential of the Russian-Omani partnership and invited the Omani delegation to participate in leading international business forums.

"We would like to thank the Omani authorities, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Investment of the Sultanate of Oman, the Sultanate Chamber of Commerce and Industry and all our Omani friends for the atmosphere of authentic Oriental hospitality. Today's business forum is significant because it takes place on the eve of Oman's National day and as part of the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Our relations are based on the principles of mutual interest, trust and equality. An additional powerful impetus to our cooperation was given by the visit of Sultan of Oman Haysam Bin Tarek Al Said to the Russian Federation. We have created unique prerequisites for taking our partnership to a new level. Oman's participation as a guest country at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in 2024 was a landmark event.: This has revealed the Sultanate's potential as an attractive country for investment. I am confident that today's Forum will lay a solid foundation for our future meetings. We invite our Omani partners to continue participating in Roscongress Foundation events and become partners of the Roscongress International Business communication zone. We will also be glad to see the Omani delegation at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2026, which will be held on June 3-6," said Alexey Valkov.

At the opening of the Forum, the participants were shown presentation materials from the Roscongress Foundation events, in particular the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.

The Forum will also include a high–level plenary session "Russia-Oman: a look into the future", which will consider strategic directions for the development of bilateral relations, panel discussions, and business dialogue.
