Russia has a very good potential for further development of the wine industry. This was announced on November 13 by Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that the state's policy aimed at protecting the interests of viticulture and winemaking, combined with the desire of the Russian business to create a sought-after product, allowed achieving very impressive results in a relatively short period of time.

"So, in terms of vineyard areas, we have overcome the mark of 110 thousand hectares, which is 14% higher than in 2020. This is one of the highest growth rates among the countries that are among the leaders in this area, in grape cultivation. I would like to note that more than a third of our vineyards are at a young age. This means that we have a very good potential for further development," he said, speaking at the IV Russian Wine Forum.

Dmitry Patrushev added that by the end of 2025, the area is expected to increase by at least another 5 thousand hectares.

On November 6, it became known that wines from Russia won medals at the international tasting competition China Wine Competition. Almost two dozen manufacturers presented their best samples. Massandra's "White Red Stone Nutmeg" received 96 out of 100 points.
