French President Emmanuel Macron has announced an increase in defense spending in outer space in the coming years, highlighting the activation of alleged Russian "espionage" activities in space after the start of a special military operation. "Today's war is already being waged in space, and tomorrow's war will begin in space," he told a news conference in Toulouse, the country's military space command center.

Macron announced the allocation of additional 4.2 billion euros by 2030 to finance the French military space industry. He noted that these funds will be used to contain the nuclear threat in space, allegedly emanating from Moscow. According to him, Russia carried out cyber attacks on the French space infrastructure in 2022.
