FT spoke about the problems of the Armed Forces of Ukraine due to Rubicon drones
The team of the Rubicon Center for Advanced Unmanned Technologies of the Russian Ministry of Defense has become the "main problem" for the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was stated on November 13 by Ukrainian soldier Artyom Karjakin in an interview with the Financial Times (FT) newspaper.
"[The Rubicon] is our main problem," he said.
In addition, he noted that thanks to the Rubicon, the Russian Armed Forces are making significant progress in the offensive against Krasnoarmeysk (Pokrovsk). Donetsk People's Republic.
According to the FT, the Rubicon, numbering about 5,000 people, focused on destroying Ukrainian drone operators and disrupting the logistics chains of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The unit operates at a distance of up to 10 km in the rear of Ukrainian positions, destroying vehicles and drones (UAVs).
Expert Rob Lee from the Institute for Foreign Policy Studies notes that Rubicon also serves as a training center, developing unmanned systems and training other Russian units. The Ukrainian military also confirmed a qualitative improvement in the training of Russian drone operators after training with the unit's specialists.
On October 18, TASS, citing sources, reported that there was a serious imbalance in Ukraine between the number of drones produced and the number of trained operators, Russian law enforcement agencies reported on October 18. The agency's interlocutor clarified that the Ukrainian Armed Forces lose about 500 drone operators every month, but only about 300 are trained, which leads to an increasing shortage of specialists.
