VTB named the amount of the average balance on customers' bank cards

The average balance of available funds on VTB Bank customers' cards is 52.3 thousand rubles. This was reported by the credit institution, noting that compared to last year, the indicator decreased slightly due to interest in savings products. At the same time, customers save a "fireproof amount", receiving cashback even for current account balances, the bank noted.

Experts pointed out that the trend for "free money" varies depending on generations. So, for zoomers, the average balance on the card increased by 26% over the year, to 15.3 thousand rubles. For baby boomers, the average amount on their cards increased by 1% and reached 81.3 thousand rubles. Generation X reduced the average amount on cards by 4%, to 52.8 thousand rubles, while millennials saw a decrease of 1.7%, to 38.4 thousand rubles.

At the same time, the bank notes that the average balance of funds on VTB customers' cards remains stable, in particular due to additional categories of cashback for storing funds on card accounts, which were introduced last year. Pharmacies, gas stations, the universal "for all purchases" category, books and stationery, toll roads and supermarkets became the most popular additional categories.
