Over the past day, 269 accidents have occurred on Russian roads, in which 34 people were killed and 320 injured. 27 of the dead were drivers and passengers. This was reported to Izvestia on November 13 by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

As a result of 99 accidents, 55 of which occurred at pedestrian crossings and 44 outside their area of operation, seven pedestrians were killed, and 99 more were injured in various degrees of severity. Among the injured were 22 young pedestrians under the age of 16, 12 of whom were injured when crossing the roadway outside the designated areas.

21 accidents involving buses were recorded, in which eight people were killed, 24 more road users, including two children, needed medical help. The reason for 14 bus accidents were traffic violations committed by drivers of other vehicles.

There were also 31 accidents involving minors, in which 31 young road users, including seven passengers, were injured. Two children were killed: a girl passenger in a passenger vehicle and a schoolboy pedestrian.

So, in the evening in one of the rural settlements of the Republic of Crimea, a 28-year-old passenger car driver was briefly distracted from driving and collided with a truck moving in front of him in the same direction. As a result of the accident, the daughter of the perpetrator of the collision, born in 2025, was killed, who was transported in the back seat in a child restraint and was wearing a seat belt. The driver of the car and another passenger were injured and ended up in hospital.

In the city of Novocheboksarsk, Chuvash Republic, during the daytime, a 38-year-old female trolleybus driver ran over a 10-year-old pedestrian who, returning home from school, was crossing the roadway at a controlled pedestrian crossing at a traffic light forbidding him and did not see the approaching trolleybus, enthusiastically talking on a mobile phone. The schoolboy died.

The State Traffic Inspectorate reminded parents of underage road users of the need to be more attentive to their children, trying to ensure maximum safety for them and, if possible, personally accompanying them to school, as well as to educational or sports activities. It is important to have an explanatory conversation with them about the rules of safe passage through the roadway, paying special attention to the need to exclude telephone conversations, listening to music in headphones, chatting on the go in Internet chats and other distracting factors for pedestrians. It should be emphasized that you should start moving along a regulated pedestrian crosswalk only when the traffic light allows this action and only after making sure that there is a complete stop or the absence of nearby vehicles allowing pedestrians to pass.

"We urge motorists to always be attentive, collected and disciplined when driving vehicles. We recommend avoiding risky driving, distraction, speeding, sudden lane changes, overtaking, and other dangerous maneuvers. Remember that not only your life and health depend on your driving skills, driving experience, well—being and law-abiding driving behavior, but also the lives and health of other road users, including your passengers," said the head of the Department for Road Safety Promotion and Prevention of child traffic injuries of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, Police Colonel Sergey Hrantskevich.

On November 1, it was reported that following the results of the first nine months of 2025, a decrease in road traffic accidents was recorded in the Russian Federation. The number of road accidents decreased by 2.4% (94.9 thousand cases), the number of dead — by 3.4% (10.1 thousand people), injured — by 3% (117.7 thousand people).
