Sobyanin assessed the effectiveness of entrepreneurial classes in Moscow
About 11.4 thousand Moscow high school students are studying in entrepreneurship classes, eight times more than in 2021, when the project was just launched. Such data was provided by the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, in his blog.
The entrepreneurial field is consistently among the three most popular pre-professional classes, Sobyanin noted. The number of schools participating in the project has grown over the years from 44 to 223. "Of course, entrepreneurship is primarily a state of mind and a way of life. But, as in any other business, there are rules and standards in business that can and should be learned," wrote the mayor of the capital.
Among the partners of the entrepreneurial classes are more than 300 companies, the Institute of Management Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences and 17 universities. At their venues, students attend business trainings, seminars, lectures, and business games, as well as participate in case championships, business accelerators, and foresight sessions.
In the classrooms, students learn how to create projects and conduct research, study mathematics, social studies and a foreign language in depth, as well as a number of special courses. In particular, high school students get acquainted with various economic systems, factors of production and types of markets, learn about marketing tools and sales technologies, Sobyanin said.
"Knowledge of the basics of business modeling and making business plans is of great practical benefit," the mayor believes. The curriculum also includes classes on developing emotional intelligence, creativity, and critical thinking.
Many guys start their own businesses before they graduate from high school. More than 90% of graduates of such classes enroll in specialized courses at leading universities in the country. The acquired knowledge and skills will help young professionals to start a career in economics and finance, Sobyanin is sure.
