The number of car thefts and thefts decreased in Moscow

In the first 10 months of 2025, the number of thefts and thefts of vehicles, as well as violations of traffic rules and vehicle operation, decreased in Moscow. The Moscow prosecutor's office announced this on November 13 in its Telegram channel.

So, from January to October, 146 car thefts were recorded in the capital, which is 38.1% less year-on-year, and 195 vehicle thefts (-5.8%).

In addition, 446 (-8.2%) cases of violations of traffic rules and vehicle operation under Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation were registered in Moscow during the reporting period, of which 91 (-26.6%) were fatal.

In just 10 months of this year, 102.1 thousand crimes were registered in Moscow, which is 5.4% less than in January-October last year.

On November 1, it was reported that following the results of the first nine months of 2025, a decrease in road traffic accidents was recorded in the Russian Federation. The number of road accidents decreased by 2.4% (94.9 thousand cases), the number of dead — by 3.4% (10.1 thousand people), injured — by 3% (117.7 thousand people).
