Ex-Deputy Defense Minister Popov kept a rare Mauser at home
The former deputy head of the Ministry of Defense, General Pavel Popov, accused of corruption, kept a rare Mauser pistol and other weapons at his home without a license. This became known from the case file on November 13.
"Popov has two Mauser and PM firearms (Makarov pistol — Ed.), an IZH-27 smoothbore hunting rifle, and a gas weapon. A Vepr hunting rifle and 40 rounds of ammunition were also found and seized from him," TASS quoted the document as saying.
