Following a meeting in the Canadian province of Ontario on November 12, the Group of Seven countries declared the need for an immediate cease-fire in Ukraine and the start of negotiations.

In a joint statement by the foreign ministers of the G7 member countries, it was noted that the current line of contact should be the starting point for dialogue.

"We have reiterated that an immediate ceasefire is urgently needed. We have agreed that the current line of contact should be the starting point of the negotiations," the document says, distributed by the press service of the Canadian Foreign Ministry.
