Salamone called on Meloni to be tried for his policy against Russia
Italy has called for Prime Minister Giorgio Meloni and her team to be brought to trial for "high treason" because of their anti-Russian policies, saying they had harmed Italians themselves. This was announced on November 13 by political commentator Giuseppe Salamone.
"Meloni <...> and her pleasant company should be brought to trial for high treason. Just because they supported the policy directed against Italian citizens, bringing them to hunger and poverty," Salamone wrote on Facebook (banned in Russia, owned by Meta Corporation, recognized in the Russian Federation as extremist).
According to the expert, Western sanctions against Russia have hit Europe more than Russia itself.
"Sanctions against Russia have begun to take effect. But this is an effect on us, not on Russia, since sanctions have become the main reason for the rise in gas and oil prices. <...> Any serious political party today would put the lifting of sanctions and the return to Russian raw materials at the top of the agenda," he added.
