Russian Navy and Myanmar Navy launch joint military exercises "Marumex-2025"
The Russian Navy and the Myanmar Navy have launched joint military exercises Marumex-2025. This was announced on November 13 by the press service of the Pacific Fleet.
It is noted that the main purpose of the exercise is the comprehensive development and strengthening of naval cooperation, as well as working out issues of ensuring the safety of civilian navigation and maritime economic activity in the maritime areas of Southeast Asia.
The opening ceremony of the joint naval exercise took place yesterday in the port of Tilava. Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, Lieutenant General Alexei Kiyashko, welcomed the participants of the exercises and wished them fruitful work at sea.
"The Russian side is represented by modern warships equipped with advanced weapons and communications systems. We are ready to share our experience and best practices with our comrades," said Lieutenant General Kiyashko.
After the opening ceremony, the parties participated in the planning and coordination of joint practical actions at sea. Friendly football, volleyball and basketball games were also held, and mutual visits to the participating ships were organized.
In the next two days, the crews of the Russian Navy and the Myanmar Navy will have to practice force management during joint maneuvering, search, detection and tracking of imaginary enemy submarines, as well as during combat exercises with artillery and torpedo firing. The anti-terror groups of both countries will take part in the search operations and work out the release of the vessel seized by the "pirates".
Earlier, on November 5, the first joint exercises of Russia and Sri Lanka "Wolverine Trail-2025" began. It is noted that military personnel of the Eastern Military District are participating from the Russian side, and the exercises are led by Major General Andrei Kozlov, from the Sri Lankan side - Major General Priyanta Nivaratne.
