Almost 80% of French citizens noted an increase in cruelty in society
Almost 80% of French people agree with the statement that the country's society is facing an increase in brutality. This follows from the results of a CSA study published on November 12 for Europe 1 radio station, CNews TV channel and the Journal du Dimanche newspaper.
The study was conducted online from November 7 to November 10 among 1,000 adult French citizens based on a representative sample.
It is noted that the percentage of men who answered in the affirmative was higher than among women — 80% and 78%, respectively. At the same time, 86% of respondents aged 50-64 are the most supporters of the statement about the growth of savagery in society.
In addition, sociologists have found that party preferences also influenced the results of the study. Thus, the overwhelming majority of respondents who support the right—wing parties Republicans (88%) and the National Association (89%) agreed that society is experiencing an increase in savagery.
Earlier, on November 7, Le Figaro newspaper reported that pro-Palestinian activists launched smoke bombs and disrupted a concert of the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by conductor Lahav Shani at the Paris Philharmonic. The Philharmonic strongly condemned the incident and announced the filing of a complaint.
