The launch of the Soyuz-5 launch vehicle may take place in the near future. This was announced to Izvestia on November 12 by Dmitry Bakanov, head of the Roscosmos state corporation.

"We are waiting for all the tests on the territory of Baikonur and are preparing for the launch within a few weeks," he said.

According to the draft, the launch table for Soyuz-5 was prepared by the Kazakh side. The Samara Progress Rocket and Space Center presented the rocket itself.

It is expected that Soyuz-5 will be able to launch spacecraft into various orbits, and in the future will contribute to manned missions.

Earlier that day, the Soyuz-5 launch vehicle arrived at the Baikonur cosmodrome. The blocks have already been delivered to the assembly and testing building. Soyuz-5 is designed to launch automated spacecraft into Earth orbit. The rocket has a high level of environmental safety. The first launch of Soyuz-5 is scheduled before the end of 2025.

On October 10, it was reported that the first stage of the promising Soyuz-5 rocket had successfully passed firing tests. The tests of the rocket, equipped with an RD-171MV engine with a thrust of 800 tons, lasted 160 seconds.
