The main New Year tree of the country was chosen in the Moscow region
A century-old tree found in the Ruza district of the Moscow region was chosen as the main New Year tree in Russia this year. This was announced on November 12 on the website of the Office of the President of Russia.
"The century-old forest beauty was found on the territory of the Ruzsky municipal district of the Moscow region. Its height is 26 m, the trunk circumference is 64 cm, and the span of the lower branches is 11 m," the report says.
During the search, experts examined 24 fir trees from the Moscow region. It is noted that cutting, transportation, installation and festive decoration will be carried out using modern technologies that will ensure the complete safety and security of the tree.
Earlier, on October 30, Alexander Sitov, chairman of the city committee on Industrial Policy, Innovation and Trade, announced that the concept of the Christmas market in St. Petersburg would be designed in the Russian style. He added that all decorations will be standardized by the transition to Russian traditions.
