Smoke chamber for rescue training to be built in Shatura
In Shatura, a smoke chamber began to be built on the territory of the 8th fire and rescue unit. The specialized facility is designed for training gas and smoke protectors. There is no such training facility in the district's fire departments yet. Therefore, training has to be conducted in neighboring districts.
As explained by the online publication Podmoskovye Segodnya, thanks to the smoke chamber, practical exercises can be conducted in conditions that are as close as possible to the real situation during a fire. Rescuers have the opportunity to practice actions in smoke-filled rooms in conditions of limited visibility, search for victims and work with heavy equipment.
The smoke chamber building measures 12m x 12m. Now specialists are filling in the foundation plate. The walls, partitions and doors will be installed in the room. This is necessary to create various training scenarios.
The facility is being built as part of the "35 Good Deeds" campaign. It is dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation. The smoke chamber will be put into operation in 2026.
Earlier, on September 28, it was reported that a fire broke out in a three-story administrative building in Moscow, which caused the roof to collapse. According to preliminary information, no one was injured in the incident. About 50 people and 16 pieces of equipment were involved to eliminate the fire.
