Actress Rutberg called Vladimir Simonov a man of aesthetics and theatrical ethics.
People's Artist of Russia Vladimir Simonov was a man of aesthetics and a true king of the stage. Simonov's colleague, actress Yulia Rutberg, told the Izvestia correspondent on November 12.
"He was a thinker, an artist, a man of aesthetics and theatrical ethics. He was extremely talented, an amazing partner, and the smartest person. If [imagine that] there is a "Tretyakov Gallery" of our generation in Russian culture, the man of the "Tretyakov Gallery" has left," she shared.
Rutberg noted that the memory of the actor will live on in everyone who went on stage with him or watched him play from the auditorium.
"Such people are born very rarely and it is very painful to lose such a treasure," the actress concluded.
Earlier that day, a farewell ceremony for Simonov was held at the Evgeny Vakhtangov Theater in Moscow. The actor will be buried at the Troekurovsky cemetery.
Simonov's death at the age of 68 became known on November 9. The cause of the actor's death was heart failure. Simonov is known for his filmography, which includes about 157 roles, including such famous films as "Dyatlov Pass", "Children of Arbat", "Single people are provided with a dormitory", "One love in a million" and "Psycho".
At the same time, Kirill Krok, director of the Vakhtangov Theater, told Izvestia that Simonov was one of the most gifted actors of the troupe and had been devoted to the stage and his profession all his life. He expressed the hope that the actor's sons, who are also involved in the Vakhtangov Theater troupe, Vasily and Vladimir Simonov, will continue their father's work.
