Global demand for oil and gas will continue to grow over the next 25 years. The Financial Times (FT) wrote about this on November 12 with reference to the new global development scenario of the International Energy Agency (IEA).

"If the world continues to move along the current path, the demand for oil and gas will grow, and there will be no significant reduction in CO2 emissions," the article says.

According to the scenario, taking into account current global politics, oil demand will grow from 100 million barrels per day in 2024 to 113 million barrels per day by 2050 due to the aviation, transportation and petrochemical industries.

According to another scenario of the IEA, based on the "stated policy", which includes proposed but not yet adopted laws in the field of energy and climate, by 2030, oil demand will reach 102 million barrels per day.

According to the IEA, the increase in demand is due to an increase in living standards, as well as the development of industries and data centers.

"While investments in data centers have been concentrated in developed countries, the energy sector will increasingly depend on emerging economies, led by India and Southeast Asia, as well as the Middle East, Latin America and Africa," the IEA said.

On November 11, Reuters reported that indigenous protesters broke into the venue of the COP30 climate summit in Brazil, but were pushed back by security guards. It is noted that people demanded access to the UN complex, where the summit was held.
