A man was detained in St. Petersburg for promoting terrorism.
A man born in 1973, who called for joining terrorist organizations, was detained in St. Petersburg. This was reported on November 12 by the TV channel 78.ru .
According to the TV channel, the detainee justified the activities of the Russian Volunteer Corps (an organization recognized as terrorist and banned in the Russian Federation) and the Freedom of Russia Legion (an organization recognized as terrorist and banned in the Russian Federation) on the Internet.
The man also posted instructions on joining these organizations in the public domain and called on Russian citizens to actively assist them. A criminal case has been opened against the detainee for propaganda of terrorism; the sanction of the article provides for up to seven years in prison.
Earlier, on October 17, schismatic hieromonk Yevgeny Pinchuk was arrested in the Sverdlovsk region for justifying the activities of the nationalist organization RDK (the organization is banned in the Russian Federation and recognized as a terrorist organization) in one of the nationalist Telegram channels. The court ordered to place him in custody for two months.
