Over the past day, 294 road accidents have occurred on Russian roads, in which 22 people were killed and 355 injured. 15 of the dead were drivers and passengers. This was reported to Izvestia on November 12 by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

16 accidents involving buses were recorded, in which one person was killed, and 23 more road users, including three children, needed medical help. 11 bus accidents were caused by traffic violations committed by their drivers. The State Traffic Inspectorate reminded bus drivers that the life and health of passengers during transportation depend entirely on their skills, driving experience, well-being, law-abiding driving behavior and good technical condition of the vehicle.

As a result of 104 road accidents, 51 of which occurred at pedestrian crossings and 53 outside their area of operation, seven pedestrians were killed, and another 101 were injured in various degrees of severity. Among the injured, 21 child pedestrians, 16 of them were injured when crossing the roadway in designated places. 35 accidents involving minors were also registered, in which 37 young road users were injured, including 11 passengers, two cyclists and two motor transport drivers. There are no dead children.

The State Traffic Inspectorate recommended that pedestrians be more attentive on the roads, use retroreflective elements on clothes to improve visibility by drivers in conditions of short daylight hours, autumn bad weather and in the evening.

"We would like to draw the attention of motorists that with the onset of the late autumn period with its unstable weather, one should be extremely careful when driving: avoid sudden rash maneuvers and realignments on roads slippery from rain, snow or ice, observe the interval and distance between vehicles, do not exceed the set speed. Change the tires on the wheels to winter tires in a timely manner — according to the season," said Police Colonel Sergey Hrantskevich, head of the Department for Road Safety Promotion and Prevention of child traffic injuries at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

The Traffic Police also reminded drivers that in conditions of insufficient visibility, it is necessary to move with external lighting devices turned on, it is mandatory to use fog lights (if any), and during precipitation, reduce speed as much as possible and move with the alarm lights on.

On November 1, it was reported that following the results of the first nine months of 2025, a decrease in road traffic accidents was recorded in the Russian Federation. The number of road accidents decreased by 2.4% (94.9 thousand cases), the number of dead — by 3.4% (10.1 thousand people), injured — by 3% (117.7 thousand people).
