Public transport benefits may be expanded in Perm. The measures will affect children over the age of seven who have not started school, as well as students.

The initiative comes from the Department of Transport. The issue will be considered at a meeting of the Committee on Economic development of the City Duma.

In addition, preferential student travel cards in Perm are planned to be made available to students of higher and secondary specialized educational institutions throughout Russia and Belarus. This is necessary so that students from other cities, volunteers and members of student groups who come to Perm can use discounted public transport. Permians who study in other cities and come home on vacation will also be able to use it.

Earlier it was reported that Yekaterinburg schoolchildren will be able to ride the city's land transport for free from September 1. The authorities promise that later the change will be extended to the entire Sverdlovsk region.
