The court recognized the lawful arrest of billionaire Suleymanov
The Moscow City Court rejected the defense's appeal against the arrest of businessman Ibrahim Suleymanov, accused of organizing two murders and attempted murder. This was reported on November 12 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the courtroom.
Thus, the previously adopted preventive measure in the form of detention remains in force at least until December 2.
Suleymanov's lawyers tried to challenge the arrest in the Moscow City Court, but the panel of judges dismissed the complaint. The meeting was held behind closed doors at the request of the investigation, which referred to the need to protect legally protected secrets.
On October 6, it was reported that at least three accomplices of businessman Ibrahim Suleymanov were detained in Dagestan as part of a criminal case on organizing murders. They are considered to be involved in the murder of 2021. A day later, all three defendants were arrested.
On October 3, a source from Izvestia reported that businessman Ibrahim Suleymanov was detained on suspicion of organizing the murder of former head of the Federal Financial Rehabilitation and Bankruptcy Service Georgy Tal in 2004. According to the source, Suleymanov already has a criminal record. It was noted that in 2007, the billionaire and his partner Tatevos Surinov were charged under Parts 1 and 4 of Articles 159 of the Criminal Code ("Fraud") and under Article 174 of the Criminal Code ("Money laundering"). Later, the investigation requested Suleymanov's detention. The court granted this request and arrested the billionaire.
In addition, another person involved in the criminal case, Mukhamed Darbishev, went under arrest. He was imprisoned for two months.
