Russian Demin set a Brooklyn Nets record for three-pointers among rookies
Egor Demin, a Russian basketball player and point guard for the Brooklyn Nets, broke the club record for the most accurate three-point shots among the team's rookies on November 12.
In the National Basketball Association (NBA) regular season match against the Toronto Raptors, the athlete made four three-point shots. So, in 10 games with Brooklyn, he scored 18 accurate hits from beyond the arc, which became a new club record for newcomers. The 19-year-old Russian surpassed the achievement of Croatian forward Bojan Bogdanovic, who made 15 three-pointers in the first 10 matches in the 2014/15 season.
In the game against Toronto, Demin scored 16 points, made four rebounds and five assists. In 27 minutes and 31 seconds on the court, he made 5 of 11 shots from the game, including 4 of 8 three-pointers, as well as both free throws, Sport-Express adds.
On October 31, it was reported that Demin became the first league player to start his professional career with 20 accurate shots from a game, all of which were made solely from behind the three-point arc. The 19-year-old athlete also became the first Russian basketball player in 12 years to be selected in the NBA draft.
